31" (79 cm.) Bisque socket head, large blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, lushly-painted brushstroked brows, accented eye corners and shaded nostrils, open mouth, shaded and outlined lips, row of porcelain teeth, impressed dimples at philtrum and chin, separately-applied pierced ears, original wheat-blonde hand-tied human hair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 14 (incised, with artist marks and red stamp "Tete Jumeau") Bebe Jumeau SGDG Depose (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1895. Value Points: lovely bisque and modeling, dramatic large eyes, original wig, pate, body in especially fine condition, and wearing original rose twill dress with lace trim, rose wire-brimmed bonnet, undergarments, rose stockings and leather shoes signed "Paris Depose 14" with bee symbol; preserved in original labeled box, along with original Jumeau chemise and bebe stays.
