Description
19" (48 cm.) Standing upon a velvet covered base is a bisque head doll with brown glass paperweight inset eyes, lushly-painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with richly-shaded lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, carton torso and legs, wire upper arms, bisque forearms, wearing burgundy silk and velvet costume, a basket of ten miniature bisque dolls held at her waist, and two all-bisque dolls held in her extended arms. When wound, music plays and she lifts the little dolls up and down while turning her head. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau 3 (head) (two tune paper labels on underside base). Comments: Leopold Lambert, circa 1890. Value Points: most endearing subject, the little girl proudly shows her rare little bisque dolls.
