Description
16" (41 cm.) All-cloth doll with pressed and oil-painted features and brown hair with defined forelock curls, rosy complexion, painted facial features, shaded brown eyes with spiral threading, white eye dots, black and brown upper eyeliner, closed mouth in downcast pouting expression, stitch jointing at shoulders, disc-jointed legs, separately stitched thumbs, early costume. Condition: very good, some age darkening and wear to hands and body. Marks: Germany Kathe Kruse 1836 (or 7836). Comments: Kathe Kruse, circa 1915. Value Points: early model with most endearing expression and humble posture, maker's early markings.
