29" (74 cm.) Bisque socket head with elongated face and very full cheeks and chin, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted dark lashes, brush-stroked and multi-feathered brows, mauve blushed eye shadow, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with shaded and outlined lips, separately-modeled pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body with plump limbs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 13 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, the model was sculpted by renowned French artist, Carrier-Belleuse under commission to Jumeau, circa 1884. Value Points: especially fine quality of bisque and painting enhancing the dreamy expression, original body, body finish, wig, and wearing gorgeous antique costume and bonnet, along with black leather shoes signed "Bebe Jumeau Depose".
