Description
17" (43 cm.) h. x 13" x 13". The wooden framed store with unusual scalloped-edge sides with painted grey exterior, decorative twist-shaped gilt columns at the front sides, interior original striped wall papers and original painted checkerboard design on floor. A painted white stairwell extends up the right wall with a nicely-formed railing that continues to form a railing for the mezzanine walk-way; the railing is fitted with intricate lattice-shaped balusters. The back wall is fitted with shelving and drawers. A set of Thonet style bentwood furniture with original ebony finish and inset woven seats, comprising table, two arm chairs and two side chairs, centers the room which is filled with wonderful choices of candies in glass candy bottles and other tin and paper candy boxes. There are childhood prints on the walls, a cake on the table, tin polka dot scale, tin money box and a pair of French bisque head dolls in original Pierrot and Pierrette costumes. Excellent condition. Germany, circa 1910.
