Description
19" (48 cm.) Black complexioned paper mache head with rounded chubby facial shape of young toddler, black sculpted hair in tightly-cropped curls, small brown glass inset eyes with black eyeliner, shaped black brows, rounded nose, slightly-open mouth with two lower teeth, brown muslin torso, brown composition arms and legs, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, some paint rubs on hands. Marks: 1888. Comments: Leo Moss, early 1900s, the doll was known as "Georgie" by the Moss family, according to oral tradition. Value Points: wonderful young childlike features with especially well-detailed modeling and hair sculpting.
