17" (43 cm.) All-cloth doll with pressed and oil-painted facial features and hair, dark brown hair with forelock curl, tiny flat modeled nose, small painted eyes in shaded green color with thick brown and black upper eyeliner, closed mouth with solemn expression, two pronounced chin seams, stitch-jointed arms, wide hips, disc-jointed five seam legs, flat-stitched hands known as "frog hands". Condition: generally excellent, arms darkened, some wear to feet. Marks: (partly legible marking 249). Comments: Kathe Kruse, their early model known as "frog-hand" referencing the distinctive shape of hands, made in 1911 only. Value Points: especially appealing example of the very rare doll with original beautifully-painted features and hair, antique costume
