Description
11" (28 cm.) Felt swivel head with center seam pressed and painted facial features,blue glass eyes,very unruly mohair wig,very chubby torso,jointing at shoulders and hips. Condition: generally excellent,some light surface dust. Comments: Germany,Steiff,circa 1915,the popular figure was based on the children's book "Struwwelpeter" (Shock-Haired Peter) by Heinrich Handwerck. Value Points: the wonderful character is wearing his original sewn-on school boy costume.
