Description
18" (46 cm.) Solid domed bisque head with plump facial modeling, blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve-blushed eye shadow, accented eye corners and nostrils, brushstroked brows, open mouth, outlined lips, two rows of tiny porcelain teeth, pierced ears, pale blonde lambswool wig, carton torso, jointed paper mache arms and lower legs, kid over hinged upper legs. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Jules Steiner, his deposed "Bebe Gigoteur", circa 1880. Value Points: original wig, lovely bisque, original body with working mechanism which, when wound, causes the baby to wave arms and legs in typical baby fashion, and turn head side to side.
