Neapolitan Woman with Small Boy and Dogs

7" (18 cm.) woman, 4" boy. 17" x 17" setting. Polychromed terra cotta head with sculpted brown hair held by red hair ribbon, enamel eyes, tow-wrapped posable armature body, wooden lower arms and legs, painted brown shoes, original traditional folklore costume. Along with small Neapolitan boy with sculpted short curly hair, and two terra cotta dogs with painted bodies. The late 1700s dolls are posed in a wooden-based courtyard with wonderfully-detailed brick oven. Very good condition, some early restoration on woman, the courtyard is included although age is uncertain.
