10" (25 cm.) Black-complexioned paper mache socket head, tightly-curled sculpted hair in baby-like fashion, unusual brown inset eyes with over-glaze, black tinted brows, closed mouth, impressed dimples, composition five piece body, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Leo Moss, early 1900s, Value Points: unusual example of early work by the Macon doll maker. From the Myla Perkins collection, featured in museum exhibitions and in her book, Black Dolls (Collector Books, 1993), page 15, wherein she noted that this was the smallest doll acquired from the Moss family.
