Description
11" (28 cm.) bed. 8" doll. A wax over paper mache doll with blue enamel eyes, painted brows, wooden block torso, paper mache lower limbs, wearing antique chemise is resting in a wooden four-poster bed with lace fittings and canopy, and with two attached pull strings which, when pulled, cause the baby to cry mama and kick feet, or lift arms. Condition: good, original finish with minor craquelure, nose rub. Comments: Germany, circa 1855, a variation of the mechanical tauffling baby #121.
