16" (41 cm.) Carved wooden head and torso with elongated throat and flat-back torso with shapely bosom, black enamel inset eyes with dark eyeliner, dot painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with thin center line, blushed cheeks, brunette human hair, cloth upper arms, wooden lower arms and dowel-jointed legs, so-called "spatula" hands, wearing padded silk tapestry gown with quilted panels. Condition: overall good, original finish with craquelure on cheeks, left ring finger broken. Comments: English, circa 1780. Value Points: sought after early doll with desirable unrestored condition, gentle expression.
