21" (53 cm.) Bisque shoulder head, brown glass sleep eyes, painted curly lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with very full accented lips, kid gusset-jointed body with bisque forearms, nicely-costumed. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1924 c. L.A.&S. NY Germany 50 983/2. Comments: shoulderhead variation of the portrait doll of the child film star, Baby Peggy, commissioned by the New York import firm of Amberg, circa 1924. Value Points: rarely found model with enchanting expression is from the private collection of Diana Serra Cary, known as "Baby Peggy", with rare early celluloid pin "Club Member Baby Peggy Movies".
