Description
22" (56 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, delicately-painted lashes, rose blushed eye shadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body, aqua silk dress with lace overlay, undergarments. Marks: Paris Bebe Tete Dep 9 (incised on head, and with artist checkmarks) Paris Bebe Depose (on torso, with Eiffel Tower symbol). Comments: Danel & Cie, circa 1890, a lawsuit by Jumeau against Anatole Danel, the former foreman at the Jumeau firm, resulted in the closing of that firm after only a few years; consequently few models can be found today. Value Points: rare model, especially choice to find with original uniquely signed "Eiffel Tower" body.
