25" (64 cm.) Carved wooden head and flat-back torso, oval face, elongated throat, shapely front torso tapering to squared hips, pupil-less inset eyes, fringed brows, dot lashes, aquiline carved nose, tiny closed mouth with extended paint line at each corner, rouged cheeks, tacked-on hair wig, cloth upper arms, wooden lower arms with forked fingers, jointing at hips and knees of wooden legs. Condition: generally excellent, original finish is well-preserved excepting paint rub on nose tip. Comments: English, circa 1790. Value Points: the grand size indicates the luxury production of the striking doll, with original painting, and wearing a fine multi-layered early costume.
