12" (30 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass eyes, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, blonde mohair wig is attached to a hollow carton torso which appears as a taufling baby but actually serves as a candy container when separated at the center waist. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1885, the candy box was a luxury presentation gift at baby showers or Christening event. Value Points: rare taufling baby candy box with original white pique swaddling wrap decorative with lace and ribbons.
