Description
12" (30 cm.) Each has porcelain shoulderhead with slightly pink tinted complexion, sculpted and painted hair and facial features, wooden torso and upper limbs with dowel-jointing at shoulders and elbows, porcelain lower arms and legs, painted white stockings and orange/black shoes, with right hand in clasped position for holding object. Condition: woman's front shoulderplate has break and re-glue, otherwise excellent; man is overall excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1860. Value Points: the wonderful pair with rare bodies, are wearing their original antique costumes; the woman with rare brown eyes and long ringlet curls. The dolls were featured in a 1994 article in Antique Doll Collector, and in an article in the 1994 UFDC convention book.
