16" (41 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta head, oval elongated face, enamel downcast eyes with heavy eyelids, brown sculpted hair in center-part and drawn smoothly back from face into a loosely coiled arrangement at her nape, gentle smiling expression, tow-wrapped armature posable body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted black stockings and tan clogs, wearing original silk folklore costume with gilt metallic thread trim, laced bodice. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s.
