Carved wooden head with carved and painted hair, stippled detail of hair around the forehead and combed back into chignon which is held by black hair combs, carved and painted facial features, cloth body. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Chinese Door of Hope Mission, circa 1910, from the original series, the woman has original ink script paper label "widow dressed for the day of funeral". Value Points: rare model wearing original homespun tunic under coarsely woven tunic with burlap cord, with homespun head scarf and slippers.
