16" (41 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head, pale blue glass spiral-threaded eyes, painted curly lashes, delicate blushing on eyelids and cheeks, accented eye corners and nostrils, brushstroked and feathered brows, closed mouth with defined space between the shaded lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over original kid-covered cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent, very faint old hairline high on center forehead. Marks: 5. (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1878, early period model with portrait like qualities. Value Points: gorgeous early bebe with superb painting of complexion and features, original body and body finish, wearing fine early silk dress with Alencon lace edging, undergarments, leather shoes signed M.G.
