Bisque socket head, small brown glass inset eyes, brown brush-stroked brows, painted brown lashes, incised eyeliner, accented nostrils, open mouth with slightly parted lips, tentative smile with dimpled lip corners, row of porcelain teeth, blonde human hair, French composition and wooden fully jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: SFBJ 238 Paris 8. Comments: SFBJ, circa 1912, a series of military-costumed dolls were presented in the SFBJ 1912 catalog, described as "Sujets de Vitrine", this from "Le Camp de Napoleon" series; their listed price indicates a luxury edition. Value Points: very rare costumed doll with elaborately constructed tailored uniform including hat and sword.
