Composition shoulderhead of chubby-faced girl with sculpted black hair in short bob and bangs, painted facial features, dark brown outlined eyes, painted curly upper lashes and short feathered brows, closed mouth with smiling expression and painted teeth, muslin torso and upper limbs, composition lower limbs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Baby Peggy "The Nation's Darling" copr. 1928 L.A.&S N.Y. Made by exclusive arrangement with Baby Peggy Montgomery thru Century Film Corp. (cloth label on costume) Baby Peggy D.S.C. 8/30/96 (ink lettered notation on doll by Diana Cary). Comments: Amberg, portrait doll of the early film child star, circa 1928. Value Points: the doll is wearing original tagged dress, is rare to find, and is from the private collection of the Diana Serra Cary, known as "Baby Peggy".
