15" (38 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta head of firm-featured man, bald pate with painted hair shadow, sculpted tufts of hair over each ear, sculpted thick brows, enamel eyes, row of sculpted teeth with impressed lines at sides of lips, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden hands and lower legs with defined wrinkled leggings and brown shoes with black buckles, wearing velvet pants, white shirt and silk twill vest. Excellent condition, one finger chipped, finish worn on stockings. Neapolitan, mid-1700s.
