11" (28 cm.) Carved wooden head, black carved and painted hair with square-cut coiffure at forehead, coiled chignon with gold combs, carved and tinted facial features, cloth body, wooden hands. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Chinese Door of Hope Mission, circa 1910, the doll was a first offered model of 1910. Value Points: with exquisite detail of facial modeling and expression, the early doll wears original aqua silk tunic with elaborate frog closures, black silk skirt with cord trim, blue silk pants, royal blue ankle boots, and elaborately beaded coiffe.
