18" (46 cm.) Polychromed carved wooden head, black carved short curly hair under elaborately-carved green wooden helmet with gold-leaf edging and figural lion's head, enamel eyes, black sculpted thick moustache, shadowed beard stubble, padded armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted green leggings with gilt edging, wearing original guardsman costume and carrying sword. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, early 1700s, rare carved helmet.
