18" (46 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, almond-shaped blue glass enamel inset eyes, mauve-blushed eyeshadow, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with upturned lip corners lending a hint of smile, outlined lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig with ringlet curls and interwoven hair ribbons, cork pate, kid poupee body with square-cut collarette, gusset-jointing at elbows, hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent, body especially sturdy. Marks: G. Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, who deposed the model of this head in 1872, possibly a portrait of Empress Eugenie. Value Points: gorgeous poupee with well-rendered enigmatic smile, original wig, sturdy body, antique costume.
