17" (43 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, amber brown glass paperweight inset eyes with spiral threading, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve-blushed eye shadow, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, plump kid bebe body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees, curved upper arms, bisque arms from below the elbows. Condition: generally excellent, head seems one size small for body, one finger broken. Marks: 0 (head and shoulders). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, his earliest bebe model, circa 1878. Value Points: very beautiful gentle expression whose lovely amber brown eyes contrast the pale complexion, antique white pique gown with soutache embroidery, undergarments, shoes, bonnet.
