Description
23" (58 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, pale blue glass enamel inset eyes with spiral threading, thick dark eyeliner, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with pale accented lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, metal armature body with padded stockinette cover designed to allow infinite poseability, bisque hands, bisque lower legs, and bare feet. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: F.G. 6 (shoulders) 6 (back legs). Comments: Gaultier, with rare body deposed by Pannier in 1872, and made by Gesland for Gaultier, circa 1875. Value Points: very beautiful bisque and painting, rare well-preserved body with superbly sculpted bisque hands and feet.
