Description
16" (41 cm.) Carved wooden socket head, carved hair in centerpart having deeply-defined combmarks and braids that are drawn to the back of her head and captured by a carved pink bow, intaglio-sculpted large eyes, azure-blue eyes with black pupils and white eyedots, closed mouth with pouting expression, all-wooden spring-jointed body, nicely costumed. Condition: very good, original finish with few paint rubs on hair and upper lip. Marks: (remnants of original Schoenhut label). Comments: Schoenhut, model 102, circa 1912. Value Points: well-defined carving of hair on the rare model with dramatic large eyes.
