Description
13 1/2" (34 cm.) Pressed cloth head with well-defined facial features, painted outlined brown eyes with decorative glaze, thick stroke brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with defined teeth, painted hair, all cloth body with stitch-jointing at shoulders, disc-jointing at hips. Condition: generally excellent, slight fading of costume. Marks: E.L. (original paper label on sleeve). Comments: Emile Lang, circa 1916, the firm produced a series of soldiers in various uniforms, and were offered in various Parisian Etrennes catalogs such as that of Au Printemps. Value Points: seldom-found doll with original felt costume, with shoulder bag and beret, and with original paper label.
