8" (20 cm.) The paper mache dog, in reclining pose, is lavishly-covered in white fur, with shaved face and paws, leather upright ears, amber glass eyes, black painted nose. The head removes for access to the candy container interior. Near mint condition. French, circa 1885, from a series of luxury candy boxes in the shapes of animals, furnishings, and such, presented by prestige Parisian candy stores.
