8" (20 cm.) x 18" when opened. 6" doll. A wooden box has lithographed paper cover with French trade cards on the lid depicting young child sewing, and hinges open at the center to reveal a bisque doll with sculpted blonde hair and painted facial features, original body and factory costume, along with a bounty of sewing notions including little boxes of buttons and thread, samplers, wooden bobbins, scissors and much more. Excellent condition, unplayed with. A rare presentation box, for the French market, circa 1890.
