17" (43 cm.) All-cloth doll with three-seamed head, dark painted curly short hair, shaped nose with blushed detail, shaped and painted facial features, small brown painted eyes, thick black upper eyeliner, feathered brows, accented nostrils of flat molded nose, closed mouth, two pronounced chin seams, all-muslin body with stitch-jointed arms, distinctively modeled "frog-shaped" hands, two center seams on front and back torso, five-seamed wide-hip jointed legs, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, slight spotting on body, some fabric wear on torso. Marks: (illegible script on feet). Comments: Kathe Kruse, her first model, 1911, made for one year only. Value Points: very rare model with artfully-painted face and hair, original well-preserved finish on pouty-faced child.
