17" (43 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate with sculpted bosom and shoulderblades, very plump cheeks and chin, pale blue paperweight inset eyes with spiral threading and darker blue outer rims, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose blushed eye shadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth with shaded outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid bebe body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees, curved kid arms, bisque forearms with sculpted and separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Bru Jne 5 (head) Bru Jne No. 5 (shoulders). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1880, the transitional model has the gentle expression of early Brevete Bru and markings of the classic Bru Jne. Value Points: most beautiful early model of Bru bebe has exemplary bisque and painting, splendid eyes, original near perfect body and bisque hands, and wears original patterned rose silk dress with matching cap, undergarments, woven stockings and leather shoes impressed "Bru Jne Paris" in oval.
