17" (43 cm.) All-cloth doll has pressed and oil-painted facial features and short brown hair waved across her forehead, painted blue eyes with spiral threading. black and brown upper eyelinem, white eyedots, red accent dots at eye corners, closed mouth, blushed cheeks and ears, stitch-jointed arms, separately-stitched thumb, hip-jointed legs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Kathe Kruse 1 449 Germany (feet). Comments: Kathe Kruse, circa 1910. Value Points: near mint condition of earliest period doll by the beloved dollmaker, with artistically-rendered pensive expression, original silk costume.
