17" (43 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass sleep eyes, mohair lashes, painted lower lashes, brush-stroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth, outlined lips, four porcelain teeth, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig, French composition body with jointing at shoulders, elbows and hips. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1159 Germany Halbig S&H 6. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1890, for the French market. Value Points: fine quality of bisque and painting, with original wig, lashes, body, body finish, and wearing very finely detailed traditional costume of Brittany, including lace coiffe.
