16" (41 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta head with elongated gaunt face, enamel upper-glancing eyes, sculpted dark grey hair cropped closely to the scalp, sculpted very full flowing curly beard and moustache, strong nose, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, slender fingers, bare feet with sandal soles, wearing original linen priest robe with hood and carrying mother-of-pearl rosary. Excellent condition except three finger tips broken. Neapolitan, mid-1700s.
