24" (61 cm.) Bisque socket head with very plump face, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose-blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, pale shaded and outlined lips, impressed dimples in philtrum, chin and at lip corners, separately sculpted pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Depose Jumeau 11 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1882. Value Points: outstanding quality of bisque with creamy complexion, deeply-modeled features with subtle painting, brilliant eyes, fine original bisque, original body and body finish, antique dress, undergarments, socks, and leather shoes marked "Paris Depose 11" with bee symbol.
