Description
21" (53 cm.) Bisque socket head with elongated slender face, painted grey/blue eyes in deeply-set sockets, thick black upper eyeliner, one-stroke tapered brows, distinctly-shaped nose with rounded tip, closed mouth with shaded and glazed lips, brunette mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent, few typical wig pulls. Marks: 150 S&H 2 1/4. Comments: Simon and Halbig, from their rare 150 art character series which comprised four models only, circa 1910, this example designed as an older lad. Value Points: very rare art series model portraying a young lad with intelligent gaze, his finely-painted features enhanced by touches of dewy patina on eye edges, nose and chin, original body and body finish, and wearing fine antique boy's costume, carrying little mohair Steiff dog.
