13" (33 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderhead, blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, arched feathered brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth with upturned lip corners in gentle smiling expression, accented lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig in elaborate coiffure, all-wooden body with ball-swivel waist, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles, lovely antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: C. Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, his deposed wooden body of 1868, inspired by the wooden artist mannequins that had been made for more than a century; and his deposed smiling facial model of 1872. Value Points: superb state of preservation of the rare poupee, with exquisite bisque and painting, rare petite size.
