18" (46 cm.) Felt swivel head depicting adult man with strong jaw and pronounced nose, pressed and painted facial features, zig-zag stitching at back of head, blue side-glancing eyes, dark eyeliner, thick brows, closed mouth with firm expression, painted moustache, brunette hair stitched to scalp, jointing at shoulders and hips, elongated limbs, mitten hands. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Lenci, circa 1923, from the firm's earliest production. Value Points: very rare early model, the cowboy has original costume comprising red felt shirt, brown felt trousers with fur-covered chaps, grey felt vest, blue felt scarf, and with leather gun belt and little pistol, brown kidskin boots with over-sized large feet, leather leg strap, felt cowboy hat, and carrying rope lasso.
