Description
14 1/2" (37 cm.) Solid domed paper mache socket head, painted brown hair with swirling curls around the forehead, painted facial features, blue eyes, very thick black eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked brows with decorative glaze accented nostrils, open mouth with four sculpted teeth, paper mache body with jointing at shoulders and hips. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Pintel and Godchaux, circa 1890. Value Points: outstanding detail of painted eyes and hair, fine original finish throughout, wearing original navy blue and red felt uniform and matching tacked-on cap.
