Description
13" (33 cm.) l. 15" h. Arranged upon a wooden platform with decorative paper cover is an amusing scene of a bisque doll costumed as a jester with attached drum, holding drumsticks in hands, along with a poodle balanced upon a wooden stool and another poodle attached to an acrobatic platform. The doll has blue glass eyes, open mouth and long mohair wig. When wound, music plays, the boy beats the drum, the larger dog turns a string which activates the jumping apparatus of the smaller dog. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: attributed to Zinner and Sohne, circa 1890. Value Points: wonderfully intricate movements are enchantingly performed to merry tunes on the rare hand-wind vignette.
