24" (61 cm.) The bisque bust depicts an elegant woman posed with head slightly to the side, having elaborately sculpted brown hair with defined tumbling curls in front of each ear, and a braided coronet at her crown that drapes into a long loose braid tucked inside her back collar, her hair decorated with gilt crown and emerald-centered combs; with deeply set socket of painted brown eyes, soft blushing of eyelids and cheeks, closed mouth with hint of smile, and richly sculpted bodice with elaborately detailed painting. Signed with large incised letters at the back "Paul Duboy". Excellent condition except chip at left corner of base. French, from a series of grand-sized elegant lady busts by the French sculptor Paul Duboy, circa 1880.
