18" (46 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, large almond-eyed blue glass paperweight inset eyes with spiral threading, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French kid poupee body with gusset jointing at elbows, hips and knees, antique costume. Condition: bisque excellent, body very firm and sturdy except much wear to fingers. Marks: 4 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1878, the head model with these larger cut eyes was also used for the premiere bebe lending it a most childlike appearance. Value Points: gorgeous eyes highlight the delicate bisque with beautiful painting, original signed body.
