16" (41 cm.) Bisque socket head with slender face, blue glass inset eyes, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with row of teeth between the shaded lips, paper mache lady body with shapely torso, slender limbs with jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, sculpted high heels. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: J.E. Masson S.C. Lorraine No A.L. C. Limoges. Comments: French, from the era of the Renaissance of the French Doll, circa 1915. This model designed by artist J.E. Masson, made by Lanternier, and distributed by the Baroness de Laumont for the Ligue du Jouet during WWI. Value Points: the doll wears her original silk traditional costume and lace coiffe.
