Felt socket head with rounded face, glass-like dark side-glancing eyes in classic Baby Peggy gaze, painted side lashes, accented nostrils, thin-line smile, brunette mohair bobbed wig, velvet body with jointing at shoulders and hips, wearing red felt jumper with yellow felt trim, red jersey knit shirt, matching cloche, red felt shoes, undergarments. Condition: good, some moth holes on face, few mends on costume. Marks: Chad Valley Made in England (metal pin on torso and dress tag). Comments: Chad Valley, circa 1930s, their presentation of the child star Baby Peggy. Value Points: rare doll by that firm with winsome expression, from the private collection of the Diana Serra Cary, known as "Baby Peggy".
