3" (8 cm.) l. The firm-sided box in the shape of a treasure chest has a silk plaid cover and is edged with beaded brass frame, with unusual three-ball feet and a trapezoid-shaped handle. When opened, a silk-lined interior is revealed with original miniature gold-plated sewing tools including: 1/2" thimble, 1 1/2" scissors, needle holder, awl and large needle. Excellent condition. French, circa 1865.
