14" (36 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head, sculpted topknot, side curls and forelock curl with brush-stroked detailing and decorative glaze, large brown glass side-glancing googly eyes, dark eyeliner, fringed lashes, dot brows, button-shaped nose, closed mouth with thin line smiling lips, impressed dimples at lip corners, composition toddler body with very chubby torso, short legs with side-hip jointing, knee and shoulder-jointing. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Ges Gesch O'Neill JDK 12 (head) O'Neill (ink script on foot). Comments: Kewpie, designed by Rose O'Neill, produced by Kestner, circa 1912. Value Points: rare Kewpie model in rarest large size, with original body, very fine quality of bisque and painting.
